Movie in Overlook Park + Homeless Family Shelter Fundraiser

The Overlook Neighborhood Association (OKNA) invites you to join them in watching the classic movie, Wizard of Oz, in Overlook Park this Sunday, September 4.  The movie will start at dusk.

With the theme of “There’s no place like home” in mind, OKNA will hold a raffle for two homeless family shelters before the movie begins.  Portland Homeless Family Solutions (PHFS) and Community of Hope will receive all proceeds from the fundraiser to support their work with homeless families.

OKNA will raffle off ten prize packages of gift certificates donated by local businesses, such as Widmer Brothers Brewing, Oregon Children’s Theatre, New Seasons Market, Lucky Labrador Brewing, Miho Izakaya and The Old Gold.   Each package is worth a minimum of $125.  Tickets are $5 each or $20 for 5 tickets.

In addition, all children under 18 years old who come to the event dressed as a character from the movie will receive a FREE raffle ticket.

Tickets will be sold at the OKNA booth starting at 6:00 and the winning tickets will be drawn starting at 7:00.  Since it’s not necessary to be present at the drawing to win, OKNA is selling tickets by mail.  If you can’t attend the movie event but would like to purchase tickets to support two excellent homeless family shelters, email movie@overlookneighborhood.org.
